Q129 (since 2015) consists of Adam Fisher (tenor and soprano saxophones, alto flute); Mark Maxwell (electronics); Tom Smith (bass); Rob Shepperson (drums). Q129 is a vehicle for group improvisational composition using spectral and free-jazz principles.

 

 

HYPNOS WAKING

 

Hypnos Waking (since 2017) is rooted in the tradition of post-Coltrane saxophone quartets. The quartet consists of Adam Fisher (tenor and soprano saxophones, alto flute); Russell Davis (piano); Jay Militscher (bass); Dan Fisher (drums). Hypnos Waking employs focused improvisation based on original compositions by the quartet and interpretations of Coltrane, Dolphy and Mingus.
